# Noodle Assistant user guide How to use the app: its screens, buttons and settings. ## Getting started - [Install Noodle on your Android phone](https://www.noodleassistant.com/docs/install-noodle.md): Download Noodle Assistant from noodleassistant.com and install it on your Android phone. Recordings run up to 30 minutes and stay on your phone. - [Save photos, videos and PDFs, and find the words in them](https://www.noodleassistant.com/docs/photos-videos-and-pdfs.md): Add photos, videos and PDFs from your gallery, camera or files. Noodle reads the words in photos and PDF pages so you can search them, and keeps photos in a Noodle Assistant folder. - [Capture in one tap with the widget and Quick Settings tiles](https://www.noodleassistant.com/docs/widget-and-quick-tiles.md): Add the Noodle widget to your home screen, put Record, Photo and Note tiles in the pull-down panel, or keep a capture notification. None of them ever show your notes. ## Finding things - [Search your saves by describing them](https://www.noodleassistant.com/docs/search.md): Type what you remember, in your own words, and Noodle finds the save even when it uses different words. Filter by source, category, tag or date, or search by voice. - [Browse and filter everything you saved in the Library](https://www.noodleassistant.com/docs/library.md): The Library lists every save, newest first. Add, rename, reorder and delete categories, merge tags, and choose whether Noodle suggests or files things for you. ## Ask Noodle - [Ask Noodle questions about your saves](https://www.noodleassistant.com/docs/ask-noodle.md): Ask a question in plain words and Noodle answers from what you saved, with sources you can tap. It runs on your phone after a one-time download of about 500 MB. - [Get a short summary of a long video, article or PDF](https://www.noodleassistant.com/docs/summaries.md): Tap Summarize on a long save and Noodle writes a few paragraphs about it on your phone. The summary is kept with the save, and you can make a new one any time. ## Plan and reminders - [Plan your day with a short daily list](https://www.noodleassistant.com/docs/plan.md): Add up to six tasks for a day, put them in order, tick them off, and let unfinished ones move to tomorrow by themselves. Link a task to a save and plan tomorrow tonight. - [Get reminders for dates in your saves](https://www.noodleassistant.com/docs/reminders.md): Noodle spots dates in your notes, photos and PDFs and offers reminders: a month before, a week before and on the day.
